Who am I?

I'm a husband, a father, a brother, a son, a child of God and I just happen to be a fairly proficient computer guy too!  Notice how I said, "computer guy" not "computer geek" or "computer nerd."  Ok, I'll admit I do wear glasses, but there's no tape holding them together; I've never even owned a pocket protector, and my favorite movie is not "The Matrix"!
What can I do for you?

I can automate your business! The days of running your business completely on paper are over. You need access to your data; answers to your questions - and you need everything yesterday. Some businesses will work well with a desktop application. Something that manages the office and stays in the office. On the other hand, you could benefit from a web based application which can be accessed across the state, the country or even the world. But more than anything, what you need is someone who can listen to your needs, and speak with you, not at you to figure out what you need and to work with you during the process of implementing the solution that is right for you.
My experience

In the course of my 25+ year career I've only held a real job for about 6 months. I've always been an independent consultant in one way or another. This being the case, it has always been my responsibility to not only master the details and complexities of a project as they are explained to me, but to also break down those details when explaining the use of one of my products to an end-user. It was after years of developing my craft and communication skills that a customer told me that I was, "the only computer guy she could understand."

Large desktop applications developed:

Transfer Credit Evaluation System.  This software evaluates credits from an incoming college student who has transferred from another college to determine which of those credits is transferable.

CD Broker Tracking System.  This software is used by a brokerage house to track to Investors, Banks, and the buying, maturing and selling of certificates of deposit.  It also tracks commissions of account executives.

Student Billing System.  This software (for a client in NY) imports records of student transactions (add, drops, changes, etc) and produces invoices to school districts totaling in the millions.

I've Fallen & I Can't Get Up!  Well, you get the idea.  Developed software to monitor alarm buttons worn by the elderly and provide an operator with life saving information in the event the individual presses his/her "button" indicating the need for help.

My specialties

Listening, understanding & patience, patience, patience (I shoulda been a doctor!).

Most computer guys want to answer your question before you get it out of your mouth.   They try to dazzle you with geek-speak, make you feel inferior, and make you wish you never asked the question to begin with!

The software platforms I specialize in are PHP, MySQL, Javascript & CSS for internet development and Visual Foxpro for desktop development.
